In a lip augmentation fat transfer or graft procedure, fat is liposuctioned out of one area of the body, such as the hips or abdomen, and carefully prepared for insertion into the lips. Once prepared, the fat is injected into the lips using a blunt needle and syringe. The incisions made in a lip augmentation fat grafting procedure leave small puncture wounds that are generally less than 1 milimeter in diameter. Some patient might require additional grafting session to achieve a complete full look to the lips.

Fascia grafting to the lips is a surgical procedure were a piece of thick collagen tissue is transferred to the lips. The collagen tissue could be an allograft (cadaver collagen) or autograft (your own bodies’ collagen).  Autografts are transferred form the deep thick collagen under the scalp. This graft has a longer life span than the fat graft and is as natural as the fat. Procedure is usually preformed as an outpatient surgery in an accredited ambulatory surgical center or hospital. Dr. Broujerdi prefers seeing his patients the next day for follow up. You should expect a minimum of one week of down time after this procedure, some patient will require longer healing period.
