Male Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

About Male Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

Massive weight lose, growing older and even heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. Exercise may strengthen and improve the underlying muscle tone of the upper arm, but in most patients it will not tighten the excess skin that has lost elasticity or underlying weakened tissues and localized fat deposits. If you have unsightly sagging skin on the upper arms due to aging, genetics, or weight loss, you may be a candidate for upper arm lift or also known as Brachioplasty. The procedure is intended to reduce or eliminate excess skin from the upper arms. An additional procedure that may enhance the result is Liposuction of the upper arms which Dr. Broujerdi can perform in conjunction with the Brachioplasty. In order to remove the unwanted skin, an incision is required that runs from near the elbow into the armpit. The incision is placed in the most inconspicuous location (inner arm toward the back), but some scarring will always be visible. After surgery Dr. Broujerdi and staff will assist you in managing the scar to produce a fine line that is not readily visible with time

An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) procedure will;

  • Remove lose skin and excess fat between the armpit and the elbow
  • Forms a smoother skin and contours to the upper arms
  • Creates a toned and proportionate appearance to the arm

You are a good candidates for an Arm Lift ( Brachioplasty) if:

  • You are physically healthy
  • You are at a stable weight
  • You have realistic expectations
  • You are a non-smoker
  • You are bothered by the feeling that your arms are to large
  • You are willing to go through some downtime
  • You have made a change in your lifestyle

After surgery, the upper arms are either wrapped or placed in an elastic sleeve to reduce swelling. Initial healing usually occurs in 10-14 days. The scars fade in 6-12 months depending on your skin and the collogen makeup.

Your surgery will be preformed as an outpatient surgery or 23 hours admission at an accredited ambulatory surgical center or hospital. Dr. Broujerdi prefers patient s to spend at least one night at a private nursing facility hotel in Beverly Hills or in the hospital depending on your health status. Our professional office staff will assist you with post surgical care information.  You should expect a minimum of two weeks of down time after this procedure, some patient will require longer healing period. You should stay away from strenuous activity for several months after your surgery to allow complete healing internally as well as externally.
