Dr. Joseph A. Broujerdi is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dentist as well as Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. He combines his knowledge in both fields to give you the best possible results. Maxillofacial Surgery is focused on anomalies and deformities around the face, neck, mouth and jaws. This includes corrective jaw surgery (Orthognathic Surgery), Obstructive Sleep Apnea Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery after cancer surgery and Facial Trauma Surgery (Maxillofacial Trauma).
Dr. Broujerdi is a Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Broujerdi performs corrective jaw surgery (Orthognathic Surgery) for patients with jaw deformity (Dentofacial deformity). Dr. Broujerdi will work very closely with your Orthodontist on planning a surgical treatment for you. If you don’t have an orthodontist we will be happy to refer you to our Orthodontist. For the convenience of our patients, there is an on-site state-of-the-art 3D Craniofacial Cone Beam CT Scanner (low dose raditation) by Kodak, 3D photographic imaging program by 3dMD and a 3D virtual surgery program by 3dMDvultus software which provides cutting edge diagnostic and treatment planning tools.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a Sleep Related Breathing Disorder (SRBD) has become prevalent as the medical fields expands on there understanding of this sleep disorder. Dr. Broujerdi works very closely with Sleep Specialist and Pulmonologist to treat patients on CPAP or BiPAP with OSA. He performs a verity of procedures from Radiofrequency soft tissue reduction to soft palate surgery (UPPP), base of the tongue surgery (genioglossal advancement) and complex double jaw advancement to open and create more airway space. Dr. Broujerdi also performs nasal airway surgery to open any nasal obstruction such as septoplasty, turbinate reduction and spreader cartilage grafts for patient whom can not used their nasal CPAP or BiPAP device.
Dr. Broujerdi utilizes the 3dMDvultus software with CBCT image to analyze the upper airways and their dimensions. This will assist in identifying collapsed airway and gear reconstructive airway surgery to alleviate the chock point.

Dr. Broujerdi Combines his knowledge and training in both plastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery to reconstruct both soft tissue and hard tissue (bone) after cancer surgery. This combination will provide you with a functional and aesthetic facial outcome. We will work closely with your Oncological surgeon and team to treatment plan for your surgery.
Dr. Broujerdi is a member of Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. He is on the call panel for facial fractures (Maxillofacial Trauma) and has treated many patients with complex facial fractures. He relies on his training as an oral surgeon to care for patients with jaw fractures and his training as a plastic/craniofacial surgeon to treat complex facial lacerations and fractures.
